Christian
education at Ridgeway is an integral part of the congregation's
ministry in the development and nurturing of mature Christians.
Numerous opportunities for study and growth are available for those who
attend Ridgeway.
Sunday School - Classes for all ages are held each Sunday morning from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. from September to mid-June.
- The Nursery - Infants to 2 years of age are cared for during the Sunday school hour, and during the worship service (10:30 a.m.) when preschool children are also welcomed in the nursery.
- Children's Classes
- Younger children are divided into classes by age or school grade: age
3 through preschool; kindergarten through grade 3; and grades 4 and 5.
One story or Bible passage is taught during a four-week period, using a
workshop rotation format that allows the children to experience the
story or Bible passage in several different ways.
- Youth Classes
- Older children are divided into classes by grades: 6 through 8 and 9
through 12. They study different topics pertinent to their age and
faith development.
- Adult Classes
- The Gibbel Bible Class follows A Guide for Biblical Studies and meets
each Sunday throughout the year. The Adult Electives Class focuses on
various issues from a biblical and Christian perspective.
Children's Church
- Children from kindergarten through grade 2 participate in children's
church during a portion of the regular church worship service.
Children's church is a worship experience including songs, praise,
prayer and discussion appropriate for children, and is led by adults as
well as older youth.
Youth Fellowship - Youth in grades 6 through 12 meet periodically for activities as planned by parents and youth. Contact the church office for more information.
Vacation Bible School - During the summer, Vacation Bible School
is offered for children age 4 to grade 8. Using a different theme each
year, the sessions include worship, Bible study, music, drama, dance
and workshops.
