The ministry team at Ridgeway consists of all its
members and friends who actively participate in its services. In the
interest of functioning effectively, the congregation employs a pastor,
director of music/organist, an office manager and a custodian.
Pastor
–Elizabeth (Liz) Bidgood Enders was installed as Ridgeway’s pastor on Sunday,
June 11, 2006. She is joined by her husband (Greg) and
two young children. Liz
has background in both the Church of the Brethren and the American
Baptist
Church. She enjoys working with
many age groups and has a passion for peace and justice issues.
Liz and Greg are graduates of Elizabethtown College
(B.A. Religious Studies) and Bethany Theological Seminary (M.Div). They were co-pastors of Mack
Memorial
Church
of the Brethren in Dayton, Ohio,
following graduation. Later,
Liz answered the call to serve as Pastor of Spiritual Formation at Manchester
Church
of the Brethren.
Pastor Liz has a warm, welcoming smile and exuberance
for ministry that comes across whenever she speaks.
As she envisions working with folks at Ridgeway, she
said she looks “forward to returning to the home state of her youth and
especially to working with a group of people who are excited to explore
God’s leading and call together.”
Pastor of Congregational Care and Outreach - Greg joined the Pastoral Team in January
2011as Pastor of Congregational Care and Outreach. This is not be the first
time he and Liz have worked together. In college and Brethren Volunteer
Service, they shared in planning and coordinating ministries. In seminary,
they had one of their ministry formation experiences together in a congregation,
and they served in their first congregational call as co-pastors at Mack
Memorial CoB in Dayton, OH.
Greg has also served as a solo
pastor at Huntington CoB (IN). When Liz answered the call to come to
Ridgeway in 2006, Greg entered the Clinical Pastoral Education (CEP)
Program at Hershey Medical Center. After completing 5 units of CPE, he
continues to provide part-time on-call coverage for the Pastoral Services
Department.
When not providing ministry for Ridgeway and Hershey Med
Center, you will find him spending time in a variety of ways: time with family,
coaching Kara and Micah's softball and baseball teams, playing softball for
Ridgeway, and playing tuba with the Ridgeway Brass. You will also find him in
the community serving as a board member of the Susquehanna Township Girls
Softball Association and as Moderator of Harrisburg First Church of trhe
Brethren.
